lyrics

Dim Summer

Overshadowed by charlatans
Outfoxed by the rats
Beaten at checkers by harlequins
Will this sun be my last

We dragged our old sun down
Stuffed it in a cup
Try and pull some warmth from the ground
It’s dark now
But don’t give up

We dreamed of Indian summers
And the home of the braves
We spoil one thing and another
Now we save who we can save

Overwhelmed by the refugees
Inflamed on a raft
Erase and redraw the effigies
Will this breath be my last

We dragged our old sun down
Stuffed it in a cup
Try and pull some warmth from the ground
It’s dark now
But don’t give up
