lyrics

BRICK BY BRICK

In the envelope heat
On the old sailors street
My love rises in the west
And falls asleep in the southeast
Where the water meets the water
And the tears meet the rain
I will see you forever
If I can see you again
Brick by brick
Like so many matchsticks
To some flame of old
We force our bodies Over
We tuck, We roll
We carry that ember
Till there’s a hole in the bucket
There’s a table by the door
Below the leak – above
I’m there staring at the floor
Dreaming of my love
We awake at dawn
We’re moving thru cities
We’re moving thru light
These immovable hearts
Are moving on
Brick by brick
Like so many matchsticks
To some flame of old
We force our bodies Over
We tuck, We roll
We carry that ember
Till there’s a hole in the bucket
(half alive
and torn asunder
half alive
inside rolling crowds
deep deep deep deep
inside rolling crowds)
