lyrics

A Seventies Street

I found all my luck in a coffee can
I left my knife upside down
In an empty jar
Thus far

Say Nothing
Do Nothing
Take Nothing

I left my mutation in a burned - out man
Scrawled across the dark
Even in my ascendancy
I still take a knee
And watch it all
The lunar pull
The looming mucus

Say Nothing (work your body)
Do Nothing (pay no mind)
Take Nothing (leave nothing behind)

I left my thumbprint on your hip
And the print of half a finger
A life affirming gesture
Unlike the inward plunge
Step into your legend
Tempt it further

Say Nothing (hip break and fall)
Do Nothing (kinetic shiver)
Take Nothing (well maybe that signature work over there)

I walk a seventies street
Like a timeless land
I’m all dented clothes
And rusted auto parts
Shaking off skin
Yellow pink and orange

Say Nothing (we’re gonna have a mess)
Do Nothing (we’re gonna have a fire)
Take Nothing (I’ll take that gun for hire)
